🙌🏼HANDSTAND DRILLS🙌🏼 . One of my goals in 2019 is to NAIL my handstand! 🔥 Which means a lot of handstand drills in my future 😅 In this video I share my fave drills I for handstand. I have a long way to go, but these have helped me: 🏅Get over my fear of being upside down 🏅Feel comfortable on my hands 🏅Get my hips over my shoulders . Handstand Drills Include: 🐵TUCK JUMPS: Keep the legs together and jump up into a tight ball. At first you’ll just jump a little, but with practice you will start to get some hang time! YAY! . 🐸FROG HOPS: Jump up with the knees out to the side. Sometimes it’s easier to balance with the legs out. This exercise is a great way to feel the hips over the shoulders! . 🐬DOWN DOG TO DOLPHIN: This one is 🔥 for your shoulders. Move between poses to build strength in the upper body. . 🐶DOWN DOG WAVES: Fire up the abs as you move between Down Dog and Up Dog. It takes a couple tries to get the hang of this one. I kept my toes curled, but if that feels too intense you can roll over the toes. . 👏🏼WRIST👏🏼STRETCH👏🏼Our little wrists need some love too! Be sure to stretch them out. Move slow and do what feels good here. I’m 19 weeks pregnant today and i can still lift stuff! Here are some clips from my workout today. My  #PregnantPowerlifting journey so far: Weeks 0-6: didn’t change anything bc I had no clue I was pregnant. Just kept lifting, wore my belt, maxed out, all of the powerlifting things. Weeks 6-10: basically I did nothing besides maybe a few bodyweight exercises per week. I was extremely nauseous and sick and SO tired it felt like I’d been hit by a bus. I was surviving off of potatoes and cheese. Weeks 11-16: still totally felt like crap but pretty much forced myself to lift weights again. I don’t know if this was good or bad so don’t take notes from me just yet. Moving and lifting at least helped me to feel more productive and mentally sane. Feeling sane has been rare. Weeks 17-19: Feeling a lot less sick and a lot more energy. I’ve been doing mostly barbell work and a few cable exercises because that’s what I enjoy most. I’m a lot weaker than i was before (duh) but it still feels awesome to squat, bench, and deadlift. What I’ve had to change: No more wearing a weightlifting belt (not tryna squish this baby). No more maxing out - first of all there’s no point & second of all I am more susceptible to injury as my ligaments are stretching to make room for the extra human. No more direct ab work.... not that I was doing much of that before I was pregnant. BUT every time I sit up or even sneeze it feels like my stomach is on fire so I’m trying to minimize that feeling. I’m still working my core indirectly with compound movements and overhead movements and bracing it in general. That’s really all that I’ve had to change so far and it is totally personal and individual. My doc told me to carry on business as usual and that’s exactly what I’m doing👌🏻

So I was exhausted after not a lot of sleep today. Adding a band will make this extremely challenging 😓! You can see I was struggling to do so but holy hell my medius muscle was lit up like a Christmas tree 🎄🙌🏼! I demo lying on both sides and also the option of performing these on a bench instead, you chose what feels best for you 👌🏻. BOMB 💣 exercise!! Video 4️⃣-5️⃣ Extended Side Lying Abductions You can actually see my hip working 👍🏻. Don’t underestimate this exercise even without an ankle weight! I demo two options- up on my forearm and laying down with my hand on the floor. I LOVE both! You want to make sure your moving foot is slightly internally rotated, you will feel a stronger engagement. Video 6️⃣ Banded Forearm Abductions My knees are almost in a 90 degree angle. You also have the option to double band! Good evening 🤗🤗🤗 since I did not manage to post today I am combining both posts into one so make sure to slide all the way to the end to not miss anything. . Bridge pose is really easy to understand but again so many of students do tend to compensate in order to lift the hips higher. And lifting hips higher is not q point of the pose. . This is an amazing prep for back openings it does warm up the whole back side if the body so nicely. . First thing is first so before lifting up make sure you are engaging the glutes and when you are up try to find the activation of hamstrings. . If you open up your feet wide all you will do is dump all the unwanted weight into your lower back and with repetition you may end up with an injury. . Btw I adore bridge pose. Absolutely in love with my shoulders lately 👏🏼! • Tonight I got on the phone with my dad who struggles with his weight and is constantly yo-yo dieting 🤔 He was driving all day for work and told me he was going to have a cheat meal tonight and go binge-eat some pizza when he got home 😅 He told the WRONG person!! 😂 I’m just glad I was able to change his mindset after a lot of encouragement to take care of himself 😙 Now he’s going to stop at the grocery store instead to get veggies, chicken, and rice for dinner, with strawberries and blueberries for dessert 🤩 I’m so proud of him!!!! Made these black bean protein brownies by  @naturallystefanie ‘s amazing recipe- VEGAN & GLUTEN-FREE (for fam & friends hehe) Ingredients: 1/2c protein powder, 1 can black beans drained, 1c almond milk, 0.5c natural PB, 3/4c cacao powder, 1tbsp coconut oil, 2/3c coconut flour Toppings: a mix of dark chocolate, cacao nibs, chopped almonds, PB, coconut shredding 😋 Directions: blend all ingredients and put in baking pan. Bake at 350 for ~20-30mins & let cool. Then top with toppings of choice.. &enjoy! (makes 24 brownies) Only 70.5 calories a piece! I REFUSE to believe that were put on this Earth 🌎to work and not enjoy the beauties of life, the excitement of new journeys and d✈️destinations! I truly believe that we should have more opportunity to spend time with loved 💕 ones and travel. This above ☝️reason is why I work two jobs, for the time being so that one day my 2nd "job" becomes my full time "job" the best part is virtual coaching doesn't feel like a job! Working from home on my own hours in my pajamas 🧙‍♀️ or workout clothes, being my own boss with more freedom to see loved ones, and travel to see this beautiful world I was placed on 🙌 while getting paid to be healthy and exercise is all worth it to me.
