Cardio is good for the heart, stretching is good for the mind, it’s good to have strong abs, etc. ⁣ ⁣ But please know the science of strength training. Resistance training is a form of HIIT. It’s great for the heart too. It burns fat. It reshapes your body. Resistance training is loaded stretching and it increases flexibility. Having nice abs is achieved by having low bodyfat levels which is mainly influenced by bodyweight and strength. ⁣ ⁣ Strength training does it all. It is the cake. The rest is icing on the cake. But you can go overboard with the icing and interfere with the positive adaptations that strength training produces, so prioritize accordingly. Great post by  @bretcontreras1. It is never too late to know that cardio is sometimes overrated as the only tool for fat loss. At some point of time, you will need cardio to increase the energy expenditure and perhaps the endurance to play sports. Otherwise, you can pretty much stick to the very basic form of cardio, which is walking, a great exercise by the way which does not stress your joints. - If you have any other questions, feel free to DM or comment below. I started writing “gym reviews”, esp of the hotels we visit, because I noticed tt there’s usually heaps & heaps of hotel reviews and photos of facilities like the pool, restaurants etc but negligible, if any, proper views and photos of hotel gyms. It’s pretty frustrating for pple like me who still like to work out during holidays coz I want to know if there’s a proper gym available for me to complete my travel program tt Superman writes haha 🏋🏻‍♀️💕 — No.. it’s not abt being hardcore or “gym rats”, but more abt being consistent and making sure tt as much as we eat hard and play hard, we still get to train hard too 💪🏻 The boy & I always feel much better starting the day after a session in the gym! HOW NOT TO LOSE WEIGHT by  @nutricallyfit . There are many products out there in the market which have questionable claims in terms of fat loss. And they are costly too! First, we have cleansing juices that is supposed to do a detoxification of whatever toxins you are consuming. Unfortunately, your digestive system isn't really smart enough to know this. They can't even tell the difference between rice and bread when it is broken down to simple units of sugar called glucose. So don't waste your money on detox juices. Secondly, we also have meal replacements (eg. Ensure) or dubious supplements (eg. Herbalife) which I feel you can do better with your money. If you refer to my post on supplements, I generally do not recommend them, if you are not eating well. Fix that first before you start using any supplements and you will see better results going forward. And by the way, nothing beats having good solid food instead of having a liquid dinner as your meal. You feel better in terms of satiety as well as energy level as well. Lastly, there are slimming products on the shelves of pharmacies that were easily available, such as slimming pills or even herbal slimming tea (found in Watson's by the way). These products are at best just playing on your minds to pay for something that don't work. There will always be a disclaimer from these types of products: Results vary from individuals. Something along that line. So don't fall for the same old trick ever again! There are probably other products that promises the same results and the reason why they are able to prey on consumers is because we want results fast and efficient. The math just doesn't work out this way, guys! - If you know of anyone who takes slimming products, meal replacements/supplements, detox products, do tag or send them here. CELEBRATING CLIENT PROGRESS! After months of intensive mobility work with his quads and calves,  @santamental finally achieved a pain-free squat below parallel with a relatively upright trunk. Prior to this, every squat would be a good morning hinge instead. Additionally, he suffered pain in both kneecaps causing him to have to receive surgery for his right side. Currently, he is 8 months post-op. This squat progression targets his lack of knee and ankle strategy as he descends into the squat. It also teaches him how to engage his core to stabilize his trunk more effectively in the new-found angles. The first time  @santamental did these exercises was with such great effort! But his determination is highly commendable and thanks to his efforts we have reaped what we have sown. 👏🎉🙌 Well done Nicholas! In the next few months, we will aim to tackle the lunge which was the mechanism of injury for his right knee and make it pain-free again. Tag a friend who squats!
