MINDSET. MINDSET. MINDSET. 🧠 🧠 🧠 As the year is coming to an end, take some time to reflect on this past year. Sometimes we forget about all the small accomplishments we’ve had that have added up to regular healthy lifestyle changes over the year. Many of us are starting to come up with our New Year’s resolutions, and of course a popular one is getting in the best shape of your life. Think about how many times you may have attempted to make this a goal. If you realize this is something you always try to reset and start every year, why don’t you go about it differently this year? The fact that it’s a goal every year is because you recognize its importance. Rather than saying you’re going to cut out all junk, exercise 5x a week, and sleep 8 hours a day...all at once starting January 1st...figure out small goal markers for the year to ease in. The above goals are of course are all amazing goals that you should strive for, but take into account these are habits you want for life, so figure it out at your own pace. So for example, maybe in January you focus on making healthier choices when you got out, and drinking water regularly. In February, you can start prepping your lunch for work, and also commit to 20 min of exercise three times a week, and so forth. Don’t apply all this unnecessary pressure on yourself. Sometimes that’s why we quit so fast. It just doesn’t seem attainable. It all is, it’ll just take time. And when you start to feel better, you’ll actually make the time because you realize how your habits are enhancing your life. So take a look back at your year, acknowledge all your growth, and set your mini lifestyle goals for 2019! Lets get it!  #mindset

Intuitive eating mindset swaps...⠀ .⠀ One of the biggest shifts when you start working towards a more intuitive eating approach isn't necessarily in the actual foods that you eat but how you approach eating in general. 🤓 .⠀ This isn't easy to do as often our thought patterns around food have been deeply ingrained in us over the years. However, they are possible to change over time. The first step is being mindful of them and then working to challenge them. 💪 .⠀ Instead of being judgmental about the food choices we make, we can learn to be curious. Learning what foods we choose and when can be really helpful in finding out more about how we eat in response to our emotions, hunger and our environment. Rather than labeling choices as 'good' or 'bad', we can accept what they are and learn from them going forwards. It's a lot harder to get this information about our decisions when we are beating ourselves up about them. 🧐 .⠀ A switch to a more intuitive approach also involves embracing moderation. This doesn't mean that everyday you eat exactly the same amount of food. Some days you might overeat, some days undereat. You might sometimes eat food when you aren't hungry because it tastes good or leave food on your plate because you are full. You aren't 'on' or 'off', you just go with the flow. One decision doesn't lead to an inevitable chain of events, instead you are mindful about what you need and when. 😇 .⠀ When you move towards intuitive eating you also learn to own your choices. Instead of feeling self-conscious about your decisions, you understand that everyone is different and should eat according to their own needs. You realize that you are the boss of your own body and that it is nobody else's business. ✌️ . What’s your mindset around food?

Had a conversation with  @faizthebeast on how great it is seeing progress in Powerlifting. • It made me wonder about how many times I’ve missed certain weights in training or how often I actually saw progress. • Truth be told, progress in this sport isn’t linear. It sucks when you hit a wall, or your progress isn’t up to par with people who are making great strides. But that’s not what it’s all about. Every improvement you make, is an improvement no matter how big or small. • It’s taken a while but a year ago my best rep PR was 200 for 5 and that was it. These 6 reps had quite a bit more energy in them, they were just uglier than dog shit. But it’s still something 🤷‍♂️. • One of the best things a lifter who’s stalling can do, is find someone to help them improve. I’ve had many great coaches in the past and working with  @spotme_brah the last couple of months has really opened up a lot of doors for me. • So remember if you’re stuck, seek help and any improvement is an improvement nonetheless. @ascendonlinecoaching  @zeonloh  @edger.zhang  @edisin_20

If you follow me you know I love PVC drills, I have a progression where I start on a tee, then go to soft toss before I let them hit with their bats. Maddie was working hard here on multiple things in her swing, timing, hitting with backside, posture, but also being okay with swinging and missing to be able to make next adjustment. Even shot middle on me as well!!! lol. When a hitter fully trust theses feel drills it gets me so pumped for when the get to put it all together!!! Why do pleasures have to be guilty? 🤨 . I know ‘guilty pleasure’ it’s a phrase that people throw around without thinking much about it but I think it’s problematic. I think the words we use matter, whether we’re aware of that or not. 🧐 . There is an issue with the underlying message behind that phrase. The idea that we should feel bad about doing things that we enjoy, things that bring us pleasure that may or may not be different to what others like to do with their time. 🤷‍♀️ . It’s okay to do things you enjoy with no strings attached. You don’t have to justify it to yourself or others. If it’s something unique, thats great! If we all liked the same things, we wouldn’t have as much to talk about with others. 🤓 . You have the right to be yourself unapologetically. If people don’t like it, that’s on them. It’s hard to embrace who you really are, what you like and dislike and what you really want. However, it brings such freedom and that is always worth working for. 😊 . Set up max effort week before the holiday, we want to make peak easy while targeting new numbers early. We write down everything before we turn it into them online so we told  @ladybeastchenteetyler and  @chizzycity to use new numbers for their maxes (based off deadlift bar weight) and it turned out to be true!!! Tay pulled 10Ibs more actually at 390 and Ace w/ our prediction of 415! Which in no time 430 will be there. Getting to the gym more often has re-motivated my soul! 🙌🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am lucky to have friends who motivate, push, and want to see me do/be better.. huge thanks for the extra push this last week 😭 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was working out at home for the past few months, which is great, but I’ve always loved the satisfaction of a good gym session and being in that environment. I will be continuing my at home workouts along with yoga, but the gym will be fit back into my weeks for sure. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With 2 lower body days down and a third one coming up, goals are bound to be reached and I can’t wait 💪🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I dedicate one hour every morning to work on bettering myself physically, mentally and emotionally. My 💯 effort fluctuates from day to day, it’s not always at a constant level (I wish it were). What I do know is that each day, I give it my all, the 💯 effort that my body is willing to give that day. MINDSET. MINDSET. MINDSET. 🧠 🧠 🧠 One of my favorite quotes is, “leap and the net shall appear.” We are blessed to be able to rationalize and think about all our actions. They keep us safe. It’s our natural instinct. However, an even bigger blessing is to be able to feel through your soul. To get that “gut feeling.” Sometimes we’ve always known the next move we need and want to make, but we “think” our way out of it to stay safe in what’s known. However, what you want is on the other side of fear. And half the time what we fear is something that we drew up ourselves. Remember, we’ve already survived so many days of what we’ve thought to be our worst days. And the best part, is that a lot of our best days haven’t happened. With a fresh year coming up, really take the time to look at your life and ask if you’re happy. And if not, what can you do to aim for happiness. Regular daily happiness. When you think of your resolutions, go back and explain to yourself WHY it’s your goal. Wanting to lose 10lbs because you know it’ll make you healthier in one goal that makes sense. However, wanting to lose 10lbs because you want to be able to spend more time doing physical activities is a heart felt goal that will cause you to move even when you don’t want to. Our biggest push towards success and action come with a strong WHY. Just because we need to do something, doesn’t mean we will want to do it. We have to create that motivation. Think about all the times you’ve really given your best. It’s most likely because you understood and felt why you’re taking action. Forget everything that can go wrong, and be excited about all the amazing possibilities. Be excited to fail forward to get towards that end goal. It makes the victory that much sweeter to know that you fought for your earned victory. Take that leap of faith with the confidence that everything you’ve always wanted is just on the other side. No one said you had to be fearless, you just have to be willing 🙌🏽  #mindset

If you follow me you know I love PVC drills, I have a progression where I start on a tee, then go to soft toss before I let them hit with their bats. Maddie was working hard here on multiple things in her swing, timing, hitting with backside, posture, but also being okay with swinging and missing to be able to make next adjustment. Even shot middle on me as well!!! lol. When a hitter fully trust theses feel drills it gets me so pumped for when the get to put it all together!!!
