CINNAMON BUNS (GLUTEN FREE, DAIRY FREE) by  @thebettyrocker Mmmmmmmm! _________________________________ 2 T coconut oil, melted 1 egg* 1 T honey 1 tsp pure vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups almond flour** 1 T coconut flour*** 1 tsp pure baking soda Pinch of sea salt Filling 2 tsp cinnamon 2 tsp honey 1/4 cup pitted dates, finely chopped 1/4 cup walnuts, finely chopped Glaze 2 T honey 2 T coconut cream Pinch of cinnamon Instructions: Mix together the coconut oil, egg, honey, and vanilla in a medium sized bowl. Add the almond flour, coconut flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir well to combine.Transfer the dough onto a sheet of wax or parchment paper. Cover with another sheet of wax paper and roll out into a long rectangle, about 1/4″ thick.Remove the top sheet of wax paper. Drizzle the dough with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon. Top with the chopped walnuts and dates.Roll the dough into a log using the wax paper to keep it from sticking to your hands.Place the covered log in the freezer to harden for 15 minutes.While cooling the dough, preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.After 15 minutes, remove the log from the freezer and slice it into individual pieces, about 9 or 10 rolls.Place onto a baking sheet, with just a little space between the rolls. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden (ovens do vary – you may need a little extra time to get that golden brown color, so just check).While the rolls are baking, make the glaze by stirring together the honey, coconut cream, and cinnamon.Once the rolls are golden, remove from the oven and drizzle with glaze.Serve warm and enjoy! *I have not yet tested this recipe with a flax egg, however I suspect it will work just fine. To replace an egg, use 1 tsp flaxseed meal and 3 T of water. **Almond meal flour can often be swapped for flaxseed meal. ***It’s not recommended swapping coconut flour for other flours, as it’s a highly absorbent flour that works in a specific way in this recipe.

Push-ups are a convenient exercise to strengthen the upper body.  Understanding the relationship between repetition speed, muscle activity, and fatigue can assist in quality training strategies. I’m calling this one “YOUR favorite” because between each of these plank exercises you’re going to pick your favorite exercise (any exercise) and do it for 45 seconds. My favorite exercise is Burpees 🤢🤢🤢 so my workout will look like this: Roller Elbow Plank - 30-45 seconds Burpees - 45 seconds Roller Plank Toe Taps - 30-45 seconds Burpees - 45 seconds Roller Plank Up Downs - 30-45 seconds Burpees - 45 seconds Roller Body Saw - 30-45 seconds If you want less cardio, and you’re more of a squats type person, throw in 45 seconds of squats between those plank exercises. Pick an exercise you enjoy...YOUR favorite 😀 Remember; the only way you’re going to hit those goals is if you get after it every day. Sometimes transformations don't always go in the direction you want them to..... 😏⁣ ⁣ Pic on the left was last May when I was fully dedicated to my nutrition and in this groove that I WANT to get back into again! Once summer hit and the beer and BBQs were in abundance it was tough to be 💯... And that is totally okay!!⁣ ⁣ The journey is not about being perfect all of the time. It's about embracing the tough times and just trying to be our best. It's learning to live our lives without deprivation but also with some self control. ⁣ ⁣ I think I look great in both pictures! But it's not about the outward appearance for me in this chapter of my journey. It was the MINDSET I had, the feeling of control of my health and the absolute confidence I had in doing something for ME!! It felt SO DAMN GOOD to know I could easily say no to temptation and how good it felt to be making good choices. ⁣ ⁣ This extra “fluff” I’m carrying is no biggie... but I know with my new 20 minute program it will quickly disappear and I will be back into that groove I crave. ⁣ ⁣ I am always motivated with new things: workout clothes, change, new program, new recipes..... new MINDSET! I’m ready for the next big transformation in my journey! Are you??!

#219 of 240. Can you believe it! The count down is right around the corner! I remember back in January when I thought 240, can I even make it? The year before I had failed with 140. Some may have thought why did you double it if you failed the first time? But I suppose it taught me that some goals are worth trying! You can't always assume that you failed before you start because that defeats you. And frankly I'm a stubborn ox. I will try despite failing. I take this mentality into every facet of my life including my relationships. I fail God everyday. I fail at being a good Christian. I fail at being a good daughter, sister and yes, even a wife. But it is through my failures, I pick myself up and learn from ever mistake and determine to recognize it and get better. That's what makes a HUGE difference between failing and a failure. Failing is like falling you can pick yourself up again. A failure, is one who identifies as "failure", and believes it; often times there is no reasoning with this mindset. I am not a failure, though I fail, I'm getting up again! So don't give up! Whatever dreams or weird goals you want to achieve - Go do it! Family time in the great outdoors. 🌲🌳I’m just back from a weekend away with my husband, kids and both sets of parents. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦We have gone away for a few days every December since we got married. It’s great for us all to be together with the kids and probably the only time in the whole year that we all get to go and do something active together.🏃🏻‍♀️ We are lucky that our parents are fit and well and are able to go for long walks, swim and play football with the kids. Between us we try to show the kids the benefits of finding balance between enjoying good food having and drink, 🍉🧀🍞🥗🍣indulging in treats🍩🍿, taking time to see friends👯‍♀️ and recharge our brains. 💆🏻‍♀️. To be fair, who could resist going for a walk when dave with this amazing scenery!

I finally caught a break!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Me and this step bonded hard core this morning in all the best ways!
