I’ve been waiting a little while to post this and I don’t know why but here it is. May 18, 2017 - Nov 10, 2018 - 152 pounds vs 120 pounds - In high school I was comfortably around 130 pounds. I did sports and ate whatever I wanted. Didn’t really go to the gym and if I did I didn’t do anything right 😂 - Fast forward to 2 years after high school and I’m eating pizza almost everyday especially after working a shift at the casino, where I sit down 80% of the time. - The picture on the right was the day of my body building show in Syracuse. Tracking and weighing every single piece of food that went into my mouth. Eating around 1200 calories a day and doing cardio 5x a week. I was cold all the time because my body fat % was super low but it is what was necessary to become stage lean. - Being that lean for a long period of time is not healthy. My weight is back up to 135ish but I feel healthy and happy. It’s time to grow some muscles for a little while and step on that stage again in the future. I have a show already picked out so now is the time to focus on that goal and do whatever means necessary to accomplish that. They call it body building for a reason. 24 hours in NYC for the  @mickeytrueoriginal exhibit and to enjoy some Christmas sightseeing! We had an amazing dinner, a perfect bagel and a  @levainbakery cookie I was pretty happy. I did it all in heavy boots which was basically like walking around the city with ankle weights and while I don’t recommend that I do feel I earned that cookie 🤣

Lots of misconceptions regarding alcohol swirling about online and this time of year, there is typically plenty of alcohol swirling about the liver too, so let’s talk about it... - Like anything, the dosage is what does the damage. Do you exercise consistently but still aren’t seeing results? It’s easy to create a training routine, but the main issue in society is what you are putting in your mouth. Exercising for an hour each day is the simple part, it’s the 23 others hours in the day which determine your progress. Many people start a diet with the intention of losing fat, but often fail due to the restrictiveness of it. I believe a ‘diet’ needs to be able to suit your lifestyle, rather than changing your life for the diet. So don’t let a diet rule your life, work the diet into your life. You can lose fat enjoying all of the foods you love. It’s just about moderating these foods and altering portion sizes to suit your goals and needs. Having a flexible approach to your diet increases your chance of sticking to it and actually getting the results you’re after. One of my main goals in the fitness industry is to educate, rather than just “sell.” I don’t want to just tell clients what to eat, but rather, teach them about the foods they’re eating and create lifelong learning about the process involved. I can give all the necessary tools, but it’s up to the client to implement these strategies in order to get the results.

Contrary to popular belief, I am actually a very insecure individual. I self-admittedly struggle with confidence on a daily basis. As a child- I was always labeled as the “smart one” or the “softball star”... which is not necessarily a bad thing... but let me tell you, I was never called “the pretty one” and THERE lies the foundation of my truth. . You see, the thing is, I consider myself super lucky to have made it through middle school, high school, and most of college without social media being such a strong influence. I hate to imagine the pressures that young and impressionable girls are facing today. I, at least, had the opportunity to learn who I was (and who I wasn’t) without the constant reaping of joy and individuality that is the internet. . Even now, as a 27 year old, independent and strong-willed WOMAN, I fall victim to self-loathing as a result of the images that are available to me on a second by second basis. Do I want to rid myself of social media? No. But do I fight on the daily to successfully maneuver this trap and maintain mood stabilization? HELL YES. . Hear me out here! I was not deprived of emotional support as a child, and I’m pretty sure my family thought I was beautiful. But coming into adulthood and learning to establish myself on my own terms has been a challenge that has undoubtedly been messy (thanks IG!)— if any 90’s babies would like to agree, by all means, please 🙋🏼‍♀️

S: Beltess 425lbs 5 x 3; B: 275lbs 4 x 6, 280lbs 1 x 6; DL: 495lbs 5 x 5. (Apologies, had to repost because IG somehow thinks Eminem and Breaking Benjamin are worried about little ole' me) It was a hoodie kind of day; what was in view was all that mattered this morning. Last week, I missed a seminar and event  @hybridperformancemethodgym because of allergies in S. Fl., managed to miss a flight and get stuck in the aiport for 9 hrs., come back to two flat tires, it's cold, winter, winter, etc... Lightweight stuff. Can't complain: Waking up to see I ended with a 3.75 GPA for the semester, a week of melatonin level-correcting sunlight, and a good week with family and friends more than makes up for it all. I count my blessings.

One of the coolest parts of this year has been working with the  #AvivaWellbeing team to bring real and positive change to their employees' wellbeing. . In May,  @gain_fitness_norwich and I selected four Aviva employees for the GAIN-Aviva Scholarship, in which successful applicants benefitted from six months on the GN fat-loss programme, a full membership @ GAIN Fitness, and weekly PT sessions for six months so they could smash their goals. . The results from these four guys right here - Kirsten, Ben, Dawn, and Mark - were profound and humbling. Over fifty pounds of fat loss and body recomposition, yes, but that and SO much more. Running PBs. First strict pull-ups. Feats of strength with a barbell never thought possible. Energy levels rocketing. . Remember this the next time you step on the scale and don’t see 5 lbs in one week after dieting and exercising all week. Remember this when you get down on yourself and feel like giving up. Weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s putting in the hard work and dedication. Staying consistent. Having balance. Not quitting or giving up and remembering the “why”. Why are you doing this? 💪🏻 I have always struggled with my weight. ALWAYS. What I find interesting is that while it wasn’t an instantaneous 20-30 pound weight gain, it was slow and steady and crept up on me. And you know what, I was busy enjoying life. Being told that I was beautiful by my husband. So now, 4 years later and 20 pounds left to lose to get back down to the weight that I feel most comfortable with...strike that...THE NUMBERS DON’T MEAN SHIT. Down a lb from last week, but the weights went up, new PR yet again! This time, 295 lbs (133.8 kg) for 3 sets of 4! Then tried something new and hit 2 singles of 305 lbs (138.3 kg). Left: carbs are the root of all weight troubles, cutting out carbs is the only way to make my body smaller. Right: I’m allowed carbs in very controlled amounts. Above are my 4 best exercises for developing the chest. They’re what I’ve used most. . I’ve really added some thickness to my chest in 2018, and I can credit that thickness to these above👆🏻(and nutrition of course) . I want to point out I didn’t use them all at once... . They were strategically rotated through training blocks. If you’re interested in knowing how I went about doing this, let me know😁 . Some of you might be wondering where the chest flyes are at🤔 . Well, if I’m honest I’ve never been the biggest fan. I don’t really know how much of a role they actually play in chest development. . I’ve always been a fan of just doing extra benching instead. . Chicks who think resistance training will make you bigger and bulky... LISTEN UP! If you can follow a solid HEAVY resistance based PROGRESSIVE program, and get your nutrition on point that is what creates the “toned” body y’all seem to chasing so much! 💁🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️ If you asked all the chicks you idolise so much, I bet the one thing they have in common is consuming enough protein on a calorie controlled diet, and they train heavy! 💪🏼 Changes in your body and physique occur when you push it to the point of needing to adapt, in simple words your body thinks “fuck that was hard, if she makes me do that again I better be ready” so it gets stronger etc! Walking on a treadmill for 20 minutes playing on your phone doesn’t create that adaption! 10 seconds of shitty form jump squats, although might seem hard coz they’re awkward, aren’t creating changes in your body composition (jump squats and exercise like them should not be used for “fat burning” or body composition goals 🙅🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ but that’s for another post!) The idea of getting bulky is old news, chicks who lift are creating tight, compact, lean bods!
