For my  @rpstrength community and  #yoga community looking for a little help - feel free to let me know what else you would like to see :) Prone Hamstring Curls with Weight: this exercise is a lot tougher than it looks, but also allows for most people to strengthen their hamstrings without putting too much stretch on the muscle and with little equipment. This demonstration uses a 15 point free weight. You have to peer your pelvis and spine by pushing your pubic bone down into the ground and pulling your belly in. Grab the weight between your feet and begin the curl the weight up by bending your knees without letting your low back arch excessively. Work until fatigue, but if your reps are climbing over 25, bump the weight up. We do this with BFR in the clinic - a real hamstring burner! If you are recovering from an injury to your hamstring, work the pain free range of motion, and start with a lighter weight. I'm still banned by my doctor from doing any sort of core and ab work until at least 1 month post-op. Today marks 2 weeks since my hernia repair surgery and it's still surprising to me how sore my core is at the end of the day just from regular daily movements. . But, if you're not restricted from working your core, these 3 exercises are great to work in to your routine. They can also easily be done at home. . 🔷️ Up/Down Planks - while in a plank, alternate pushing up onto your hands and then lower back down to your elbows. . 🔷️ V-ups - these are challenging, especially at first. Lie flat on the floor with your hands stretched up and then bring your feet and hands up and together creating a "V" with your body. . 🔷️ Exercise Ball Ab Tucks - Get into a plank position with your feet balanced on an exercise ball. Tuck your knees up to chest. Make sure to keep your back parallel to the floor through the move as much as the size of the exercise ball allows it. These can also be done using a TRX banded system. .  #brightwifefitness  #brightwifefitnessexercises

I used to think I was just “big boned”, always going to be “chubby” and that i would NEVER in my life be a girl who could get abs. Clearly I was way WRONG. ALL about the Glutes 🍑!! Gluteal activation exercises from Hell 🥵👋🏻 Let’s Go!💪🏻👇🏼 • • Videos 1️⃣-3️⃣ Side Lying Hip Raise Abductions @bretcontreras1 🙌🏼 Raise your hip off the floor at the same time as you abduct your top leg. Adding a band will make this extremely challenging 😓! You can see I was struggling to do so but holy hell my medius muscle was lit up like a Christmas tree 🎄🙌🏼! I demo lying on both sides and also the option of performing these on a bench instead, you chose what feels best for you 👌🏻. BOMB 💣 exercise!! Video 4️⃣-5️⃣ Extended Side Lying Abductions Again,  @bretcontreras1 You can actually see my hip working 👍🏻. Don’t underestimate this exercise even without an ankle weight! I demo two options- up on my forearm and laying down with my hand on the floor. I LOVE both! You want to make sure your moving foot is slightly internally rotated, you will feel a stronger engagement. Video 6️⃣ Banded Forearm Abductions My knees are almost in a 90 degree angle. You also have the option to double band! Try one below your knees and one above your knees (forgot to record this 🤦🏼‍♀️sorry) Video 7️⃣ Banded Lying Abductions I superset this with the previous exercise for one hell of a burner 🔥 Video 8️⃣-9️⃣ Banded Squatting Abductions into Lateral Squats These two should also be performed as a superset. Be aware of your feet as you abduct. You should not be falling to the outside of your feet 🙅🏼‍♀️. The second exercise I am performing two squat abductions in each direction.
