353lb PR! Awkward off the floor and awkward dog pooping form (stance was too narrow) and awkward drop but whatever. Issa PR and it moved fucking fast. Missed my peak for squats (overshot the past two weeks and over-fatigued myself hehe...do as I say not as I do) and haven’t been able to bench much this block bc my pec is fucked up. So I’m grateful for this deadlift PR! . Yes as you may have assumed I did not compete as planned but I honestly don’t mind. Competitions are a great experience and are important but training for me is where the fun is at. I WILL compete soon I promise lol. I’ve been focusing a lot on my coaching and clients lately and have been developing not just as a coach but also as an athlete/coach-athlete/leader/mentor and it’s been sosososo rewarding. I feel like I’m expanding and growing every day. . I can’t wait to start this new training cycle and build with a lot of volume. So excited for everything that’s to come!

Great workout this morning, I personally love a Monday workout, even if I don’t get a chance to get in the rest of the week (like last week) 😂 . It’s sooooo hard to stay motivated in December, what with the the delicious food, alcohol and parties! . I’ll be the first to admit that I definitely relax more in December! I eat more and I certainly don’t exercise as much, and I’m totally fine with that. In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with having a relaxed, over indulgent, festive period. We work hard emotionally and physically all bloody year, so why not enjoy yourself for a few weeks with friends and family? . You shouldn’t feel guilty ANY time of the year for missing the gym or eating that slice of cake, it’s all about moderation and balance right? . Fulllbody on Mon 1. Paused Squat 2x3 1x6 2. Paused Benchpress 2x3 1x4 3. Batwing 3x8 4. Weighted Chin ups 4x5 5. One arm dumbell pushpress 3x8 (right arm suceeded but left arm failed) 6. Skull crusher 3x8 (last 2 reps were iffy) 7. Running for 10mins Now, by changing a push pull program into fullbody, I can be lazy tomorrow lol. Hit the gym 6 times a week is nice as long as you enjoy but by reducing workout time, there are some benefits you can achieve like reading a book you like or dating with your gf or bf. You are natural so you have an excuse to take an enough rest. Sleeping at least more than 7, less stress and enough time to rest and work out - things are needed but hard to afford. You may better to consider these before just going to a gym 6 times week. Here goes… Since looking at the  @scottishpowerlifting website on Friday, I haven’t stopped thinking about it. This can only mean one thing… I have to do it. So, I have set myself the challenge of entering at least one competition in 2019. Eek! I’m still a long way off from where I want to be in order to be properly competitive but with the support of classes and the strength program from  @liftgymsuk I know I can do it. Nutrition will be a huge mental barrier for me. I’m going to have to learn to eat for performance rather than constantly be in a calorie deficit for weight loss. This is going to be the biggest obstacle to overcome and one I think I’ll struggle with. I also need to start believing in my ability rather than overthinking each lift and getting ‘the fear’ midway through. I’m constantly telling people that they are stronger than they think they are, both mentally and physically. I just need to start telling myself the same!! In order to correct this issue, you need to strengthen your posterior muscles to help pull your posture back into proper alignment. Common areas that are weak are: glutes, hamstrings, and low back. This is why you should be working deadlifts, Bridges, and back extensions into your weekly routine. And not just once a weak..multiple times a week. ✅Secondly, working your upper back is CRUCIAL to great posture. A strong upper back will result in healthy shoulders that maintain proper alignment. _ STRETCH DAILY✅ - as a result of poor posture and daily habits, your muscles become tight and weak. You need to be stretching on a daily basis to keep your muscles loose. This can simply be a 10-minute routine you do in the middle of the day in your office, or at home. Get your body moving and feel out the stretch. The body is often immobilized for large portions of the day and so it is crucial that you get up and move! I recommend getting some resistance bands and getting into the habit of a daily mobility routine. _ BODY AWARENESS✅ - lastly, one of the best things you can be doing for your posture is simply checking in on it throughout the day. Ask yourself “how is my posture right now?” - if you notice your slouched forward..pull your shoulders down & back, and tuck your chin back. Imagine there is a wire attached to the top of your head leading up to the ceiling that is holding you up. This will help keep everything in proper alignment.

Today's session was very much a sweat sesh: - 4x8 OH squats 50kg - 1x2 OH squats 65kg - 4x10 belt squats 40kg - 4x10 bulgs 60kg - 4x8 pull ups bw . Training in Paris on Saturday with  @andreygpt  @beefpuffbarbell was super fun. Fortunately for us, the gym was open! Guess the gilet jaunes approve of people getting stronger (for the cause, ´course), because they didn’t break the windows or block the entrance 😛. Here are some 5R sets of squats (117.5kg) and deads (130kg). Haven’t been training with heavyish weights since the Belgian Championship, so it was a nice treat to get to put some weight on the bar. Front foot elevated DB split squats, 2x5@ 30kg per hand, then 2x5@ 27.5kg per hand. Watch me contemplate doing the second leg straight away and then decide “nopeee, imma need at least a minute to breathe here” 😅😂. These have been a mental and physical challenge haha. Wat heb ik toch een heerlijke wedstrijd gedraaid! Hier te zien mijn smooth elegant 150kg deadlift!💥 Super trots op mezelf want dat is een 15kg+ op PR! Ook heb ik mijn doel voor de bench gehaald een smooth 70kg bench, dat is een 5kg PR! Dit brengt mij op een 335kg totaal dat is een 10kg+ WEDSTRIJD PR! 💪🏽💪🏽 Helaas door mijn blessure niet kunnen pieken op de squat. Met een easy 115kg (Wat overigens een 10- is haha) toch lekker kunnen squaten zonder pijn. Mijn coach en ik hadden besloten om deze wedstrijd op safe te draaien, en dat is gelukt! Mijn ego had het natuurlijk wel zwaar te voortduren maar ja, je hebt maar 1 lichaam, better be carefull. Dit heeft er wel voor gezorgd dat ik gevoeld heb dat er nog zo veel meer in de tank zit! Dat geeft me super veel confident en motivatie!!! So NK POWERLIFTEN 2019 I'M COMING FOR YOU! Many thanks to my coach  @stormlifestyle we zijn een goed team! 🙏 @bell_coaching thanks for the support!
