Three days prior messing up my back to the point I couldn’t bend over had me very discouraged that I’d even be able to deadlift at all. So we played it safe so I could have a good day. • There’s so many people to thank for the amazing day I had God being most important for helping guide me through it.  @bamaburr for handling me,  @rodgersreset for helping me with all my mobility to help me be able to lift,  @hamstringpapi for calling good numbers,  @charliebink1ey for keeping me sane going into weigh ins and all my friends who came out to support me 💕 This might be an individual sport but I couldn’t have done any of this alone. & thank you to my coach for the last 15 weeks of training  @chrisruden.

Let’s talk mental health. A topic I never realized had so much importance until I went through it myself. Anxiety is a little bitch and it’s so much easier said than done to just “get out of your head” • Last Monday I was told some bad news that really got into my head. With anxiety getting to me I could barely squat 225 (on the left), mentally this destroyed me. I wasn’t able to hit any of my numbers needed for that day and I just broke down. I didn’t think I’d be ready for my meet, good enough, etc etc. BUT here we are a week later, moving 240 (on the right) for a double with more in the tank. It really proved to me that my mental is way stronger than my body ever will be. I had friend tell me “you do this because you love it and what powerlifting does for you, remember that”. My point is failure is okay, giving up isn’t. Take a step back and reevaluate, then go again. It also helps having the right people in your corner🖤 • @chrisruden @rodgersreset 12 MORE DAYS
